Doctor Who Series 7 Premiere Coming in August

First episode of the seventh series of the sci-fi drama will receive its premiere at the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival sometime between the 23rd and 25th August.

Those of us eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new series of Doctor Who had a massive indicator as to when we can expect the return of Matt Smith€™s time traveler. According to new reports, the first episode of the seventh series of the sci-fi drama will receive its premiere at the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival sometime between the 23rd and 25th August, meaning that the TV air date should be around the first week in September as predicted by many. If the lessons of the sixth series are learned, then a kick off at the beginning of September would possibly see a short break around mid-October, the Christmas special€well around Christmas, then the culmination of the series in the Spring. A sort of reverse of series six. As well as news on the air date, it is thought the series premiere will see the return of the Daleks after Steven Moffat decided they needed a rest last year. In addition to this, there have been quite a few snippets of information about the new series appearing on various sites and at conventions here there and everywhere. We know that the series will see the departure of Amy and Rory at the end of the first run of episodes before the Doctor gets a new companion in the form of Jenna-Louise Coleman, whose character is still to have her name revealed. We also know that Steven Moffat has promised new monsters and some old fiends €œas you€™ve never seen them before.€ This could link in to the rumours of some classic Who monsters of the 60s making a return to the show. What former foes would you like to see make a comeback? Do you think Moffat is right to bring back the Daleks? Can you believe you still have around fourth months to wait?
