Doctor Who: The New Doctor's 9 Most Terrible Choices

Matt Smith Doctor Who11 The Doctor is often called on to make difficult choices. The fate of the planet, even the universe, rests in his hands on an almost daily basis. His friends, family, and girlfriends regularly put their pasts and futures in his hands. We all know what it's like, to make choices without an easy answer. That's part of what being a grown up is. The Doctor does it so often he makes it look easy €” maybe because he knows no choice will ever be as hard as the one he made back when he was John Hurt. All of these choices are tough, but sometimes there's no right answer to them. Sometimes the Doctor just has to make a judgment call, and it's hard to say if he was right or wrong. These are the toughest choices the new Doctor has ever had to made, choices that we can debate until we're blue in the face, choices that haunted the Doctor for centuries. They're what he would call the "burden of a time lord," but I think they, and his reaction to them, are what make him more human than anything else.
