A Will Arnett-starring comedy show co-created by Arrested Development's Mitch Hurwitz sure is something to be excited about...though sitting down and watching it is quite a different experience.

Arnett's performance shows him bringing out another skilled facet of his live-action work, but the show's delve into what it clearly wants to be high-drama isn't always successful, with the relationship and addiction aspects frequently feeling quite rote.

Still, the cinematography is lovely (with Christopher Nolan's regular DP Wally Pfister doing the work, it shouldn't be surprising) and Arnett is great while working alongside a sturdy supporting cast, even if it ultimately feels a bit hollow and doesn't necessarily leave one gagging for a second season.
