Fear The Walking Dead: 10 Things You Need To Know About The Spin-Off

10. You See The Early Hours Of The Zombie Apocalypse

The original Walking Dead decided to skip forward to the good stuff. Deputy Rick Grimes was shot in the line of duty and went into a coma long enough for the zombie apocalypse to completely take hold of the continental United States. He missed all the build up, and came to when everything had already gone to pot. Which makes sense, especially for a serialised TV show. People might've taken less kindly to a series that slowly built up a zombie apocalypse, even though the slow burn drama is kind of what The Walking Dead is all about. Now the show has accumulated such a huge number of fans, though, they feel safe in telling the story of those early weeks. That's kind of interesting. The Walking Dead does what no zombie story has done before €“ telling a much longer, more involved story of survival in the post-apocalypse €“ and Fear The Walking Dead could be equally ground breaking in showing how the infection slowly brings down civilisation.
