Fear The Walking Dead Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Life's a (deadly) beach.

Fear The Walking Dead
BT/AMC

Fear The Walking Dead is an underrated beast. It'll always be tough for the show to break out of The Walking Dead's gigantic shadow, but after a tense first season and finale curveball, the future's bright for the apocalyptic companion show with Season 2 (quite literally) ready to set sail.

It's near-namesake original series is grabbing all of the headlines right now, but Fear is set to air once The Walking Dead has left our screens, ensuring complete zombie coverage throughout the year, and it will be hoping to make waves on its own accord. At the minute, Fear seems under the radar despite its monster audience figures, but a smooth Season 2 outing could be the launchpad to incredible heights for AMC.

Season 1 mainly focused on drug addict Nick, his determined mother Maddie, and her well-meaning fiancee Travis, with other families and individuals coming together to form a main group. It showed the ignition of the zombie uprising in L.A. leading to some tough decisions and bold moves which ultimately saved (most of) their lives as society fell around them.

It's no surprise that Season 2 will hit our screens, though it's shocking to see how quickly the show is returning, not that I'm complaining. There's a real opportunity now to create something fresh and terrifying, so here's everything you need to know ahead of Fear The Walking Dead Season 2.

9. The Basics

So, before we get into how the show will actually develop, let's get some things straight. Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 will be a 15-episode run, and that can only be a great thing for the series. The six-part Season 1 was ideal for introducing new characters and the scenario without overloading, but to be taken seriously as a show in its own right, Fear's longer format is essential.

The premiere will air on April 10th in the US, with UK fans treated to the new show a day later on April 11th. Following a similar pattern to The Walking Dead, Fear will be split into halves. The first run of seven episodes will play out, followed by eight more later in the year. This should mean you're never more than a month or two away from walkers at all times.
