While Marvel have had a lot of success over on Netflix, there's a lot of focus at the minute on ABC-based series. Inhumans is arriving on that network later this year, and then 2018 bringing both New Warriors and Cloak & Dagger to its sister network Freeform.

Now we've got the first trailer for the latter, and it highlights the series as being Marvel's first teen drama. The show, which is based on the comic of the same name, follows Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone “Ty” Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), two teenagers from very different sides of the tracks who simultaneously discover that they have superpowers and start to fall in love with each other. They also come to realise that their powers are stronger when they're together.

Freeform, rebranded from ABC Family, is a fledgling network, and is clearly following the blueprint of angst, romance, and hot young things laid out by The CW, all of which is on offer in the trailer. It's a little lighter on superpowers, though we do get some hints towards the end. There's also an intriguing MCU connection, with a sign for Roxxon Corp, who have featured across the movies and TV shows and seem to be involved in a number of nefarious deeds.

The series has been created by Joe Pokaski, who wrote a lot of episodes for Heroes, and has written a couple of Daredevil episodes as well. The ten-episode first season will arrive on Freeform early next year.
