The Flash: 10 Hints At What's To Come

Spoiler alert: giant gorillas.

Much to everyone's surprise, The Flash TV show is pretty brilliant. Not only does it manage the requisite ridiculous amount of Easter eggs and references to the source material, but it does perhaps the best job yet of translating the tone of a superhero comic into live action. The special effects work perfectly, it manages to walk that difficult line between over-the-top genre fare and actually believable characters and action, plus the costume doesn't look too goofy. It's also managing to pace itself very nicely. So far Barry Allen, fastest man alive, has been trying not to push himself too much €“ he can run really quick, sure, but he's not bullet proof, and he doesn't know how to fight. He's a crime scene investigator, not a karate expert. So there's been a steady learning curve as the villains he faces get steadily more difficult to deal with, which is fun. Especially because there's been plenty of hints that worse is coming. The show has been smart at teasing out future storylines. Character names have raised flags for readers of the comic, and those final scenes with Harrison Wells getting up to no good have been a particularly exciting bit of foreshadowing. Wanna know what's in store for Barry Allen? Here are ten hints at what's to come in The Flash.
