There are many reasons why Game of Thrones is so critically acclaimed as a TV show, but somewhere near the top of the list is the fact it's got in incredible cast. Some characters have been so perfectly portrayed that it is impossible to imagine anyone else in those roles. Seriously, can you think of anyone else who could take on the role of Tyrion Lannister other than Peter Dinklage or the role of Arya Stark other than Maisie Williams? But not even Game of Thrones is immune to making mistakes. With such a large roster of major and minor characters, it is almost inevitable that a few errors in judgement have made by the producers. Whilst some casting choices have been perfect, there have been casting choices that have been so bad that even fans of these miscast characters have been wishing for their deaths just so they could be put out of their misery. After reviewing the large cast of characters who have been introduced over the last five years, here are the 10 biggest casting mistakes of the show, and hypothetical ideal casting choices that includes anyone ranging from Z-list actors to Hollywood royalty. As this list covers seasons one to five of the show, there may be a few spoilers lurking about.
