Game Of Thrones: 10 Questions We’re Asking After 'Kill The Boy'
Season 5 approaches boiling point at the midway mark.
Ding, ding, ding! We've officially hit the halfway point in Game Of Thrones Season 5, and while we're no closer to seeing a new backside perched upon the Iron Throne, there are plenty of pieces moving around the board jostling for their eventual run at King's Landing. Fans weren't shown any of the capital during Episode 5 Kill The Boy but there was still plenty going on across the rest of the Seven Kingdoms - with the focus resting on just a few locations - while things are actually starting to heat up across the Narrow Sea with Daenerys. The last time we saw the dragons beneath the city, the Queen of Meereen backed away from her out-of-control children in fear, though apparently they've now become perfectly trained executioners, snapping up one of the city leaders upon Daenerys' command. If you gloss past the jump from wild to tame, it was a tasty scene, offering a nibble at what the dragons are capable of. If we needed any more confirmation, Ser Barristan Selmy was confirmed to have been killed, though Grey Worm survived the ordeal, and after some more smooth words, even landed a kiss from Missandei. Hizdahr zo Loraq, Daenerys' advisor-turned-prisoner, probably enjoyed the luckiest day of his life after going from death row to being engaged to the Queen in a matter of seconds, with the fighting pits also set to be reopened. Meanwhile at the wall, Stannis emptied his troops from Castle Black and began the march to Winterfell, Jon Snow engaged in a tense stand off with Tormund the wildling in a bid to make peace with the rest of his people, and Samwell Tarly read some books. Brienne and Pod continued their trundling, needy journey towards Sansa, while the Stark daughter was re-introduced to Theon, dehumanised and sleeping in the dog kennels, before Ramsay Bolton proved himself as the most vile character in the new post-Joffrey world. Finally we got to see a crazy few minutes in Valyria which starts out with Jorah and Tyrion watching Drogon waft overhead before being attacked by the Stone Men, sufferers of Greyscale banished to a remote colony. They survive the ordeal, but Jorah's wrist is infected - time is running out. The jigsaw is starting to click into place, so here are some of the major questions raised by Kill The Boy.
