Game Of Thrones: 5 Ups And 5 Downs From The Gift

"...My name is Tyrion Lannister..."

Game of Thrones is fast-approaching the end of its current run, and The Gift gives us the best installment of the season so far. The show has spent the majority of its fifth season assembling its pieces on the board, and now it is has moved them all nicely into place for the final few episodes. The show continues to deliver in the quieter scenes, and excel in the character pairings it has invested time in over this season and throughout its history. Meanwhile, as it moves further away from the books, it gives us moments that can be totally unexpected, or where we€™ve no idea what will happen next. That said, the show is still having some struggles with a couple of storylines that don€™t appear to be going anywhere, while for the second week in a row the fight choreography isn€™t quite up to the expected standard. It was an episode typically filled with varying wins and losses for the characters as well, nowhere more evident than Cersei, who was riding high after last week only to suffer an almighty fall this one. Here, then, are some of the ups and downs from the rollercoaster that is life in the Seven Kingdoms (and Essos).
