Game Of Thrones: 8 Times Jon Snow Really Did Know Nothing

7. When He Left His Family

Despite having a very good relationship with his half-siblings, in particular Robb and Arya, Jon never felt completely accepted as a Stark, especially due to Catelyn€™s cold treatment of him. It was understandable, then, when he offered to join his Uncle Benjen at The Wall. Jon leaves his family behind thinking they€™ll be safe, and even tells Robb that Starks are hard to kill. So far during his time on The Wall, Ned has been beheaded, Robb and Catelyn killed at the Red Wedding, and Bran and Rickon are alive but believed to be dead. He also had delusions of grandeur upon taking the black, assuming it would be men of similarly noble stock to his own, but discovered that it was mostly just a bunch of low-born murderers, thieves and rapists. To make matters worse, he immediately clashes with Ser Alliser Thorne, and his Uncle Benjen goes ranging North of The Wall and still hasn€™t been seen again since.
