Game Of Thrones Preview: What To Expect From Season 6 Premiere

Game of Thrones Season 6 finally gets underway on Sunday (or Monday, depending on where you live), meaning that the long wait is almost over, and we can return to Westeros after what's felt like the most agonising wait between seasons yet.
In part, that's because so much happened in the Season 5 finale that needs to be directly followed-up on, from Stannis Baratheon's death to Myrcella Baratheon's death and Jon Snow's death and basically all of the death. And then there's the promotion for Season 6, which has been some of the best for the series to date.
It's released a couple of trailers that have served to ramp up the excitement and the stakes, teasing, amongst other things, an incredibly huge battle, the Lannisters clashing with the Faith, dragons being unleashed, and the White Walkers making their move.
Now, as we approach the magical date of April 24 and the Season 6 premiere, they've started to peel back more layers of the first episode specifically. We've got an episode title, The Red Woman, which itself offers a couple of intriguing possibilities. Then there's a synopsis and, most recently, a raft of new images and a couple of clips.
It means we can piece together an idea the plot, and this is what to expect from The Red Woman.

The episode titles generally offer some clues as to what at least part of the focus of the episode is on, and The Red Woman throws up one obvious answer.
Melisandre was last seen making a conveniently-timed return to Castle Black, with the now commonly accepted theory that she will be the one to bring Jon Snow back to life.
We probably won't see that in this episode, but we can expect Melisandre to be a focus of the premiere. She's going to be broken after the death of Stannis, and this instalment will reunite her with Davos, where she'll have to explain about his former Lord's death and that of Shireen. However, with the mutiny in the Night's Watch, we'll also see the pair learning to put the differences aside in order to survive.
