Game Of Thrones Season 7: 11 Big Questions After 'The Spoils Of War'

11. What Do The Starks Do Now?

Game of Thrones Arya Sansa
HBO

For the first time since the very beginning, Arya, Sansa, and Bran Stark are at Winterfell and sharing screen time together; the three remaining true-born children of Eddard Stark, reunited at last.

The reunion between Arya and Sansa is fantastic. Unlike with Sansa and Jon or Bran, the two sisters did share a significant amount of screen time back in Season 1, even if they didn't get on, and those memories help give this the emotional weight required.

Add in a meeting with a slightly less creepy Bran, and it's a great reunion all-round. But what do they each do now? They're back together, but still have their own individual arcs to complete.

Bran, as the Three-Eyed Raven, has a major part to play in the fight against the White Walkers, so is he just going to sit around at Westeros? Or will he have another big vision?

Arya, as this episode reinforces, still wants to finish her list, but the pull of home is currently stronger - and she too is easy to picture in the endgame, given how skilled a fighter she proves to be here. Where will she be for the remainder of the season?

Sansa's future is less certain. While she probably won't die this year, it is more difficult to see just where she fits in for the series' endgame.

For the immediate future, though, she's the Lady of Winterfell (for as long as Jon's away), and clearly troubled by what her siblings have become. Will she go further down the path that pits her against them? And what will it take for her to realise that, while the lone wolf dies, the pack survives?
