Now that Winter has officially arrived, it's time to start planning for the end as far as Game of Thrones is concerned. Two very slow episodes to open Season 7 have seen the audience check in with virtually every character who is still breathing in Westeros (and some who aren't), and speculation is rife as to what fate will befall the remaining cast.

Already this year we've been treated to virtually a full reveal of Daenerys' plan to take the Iron Throne, and teased her meeting with Jon Snow. We also know that Arya is going home, and that Theon has slipped back into the Reek persona we were all glad to be rid of, but the nagging itch to know what's going to happen next just won't go away.

Rumours, leaks and spoilers are lurking in every corner of the internet and, inevitably, there are plenty that can't be true due to lack of evidence. However, if you sift through the unbelievable tales, you'll soon find a treasure trove of plausible theories for the remaining episodes in Season 7. Clues have been planted and, if you were watching carefully, expanding on them is far too tempting.

As this article dives into plausible speculation and rumours, there are potential spoilers throughout.

7. Gendry Back On Dragonstone

As the bastard son of Robert Baratheon, Gendry doesn't stand much chance of being accepted by a lot of people around Westeros. He's been rowing for some years now, and you'd think it was about time he made some new friends.

However, a video surfaced last year that showed a Gendry-like figure taking down two of the Queensguard with a familiar looking warhammer alongside Ser Davos and Tyrion Lannister, which ties in rather nicely when you think about it.

While you simply have to accept the irony that he's been rowing in circles around Dragonstone for a long time now, there's every possibility that Gendry never got too far from the Targaryen island seat. And with Ser Davos on his way to Dragonstone alongside Jon Snow, Gendry could be embraced by his old comrade and introduced to the fold as the man to forge the Dragonglass weaponry.

However, quite how pleased the Baratheon Bastard will be to see Melisandre remains to be seen...
