Game Of Thrones Season 7: 9 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Eastwatch'

Ups...

9. Bronn And Jaime Live

Game of Thrones Jamie Lannister Drowning
HBO

Last week ended on a big cliffhanger, as we see Jaime - clad in heavy armour - sinking towards a possible death. I mean, obviously he was never going to die, but the show certainly wanted us to think he might.

That's why I wasn't a fan of the cliffhanger in the first place, but at least here they give us an answer straight away, rather than doing a Walking Dead and keeping us hanging on.

Bronn and Jaime live to fight another day, and that's great news. The decision to have them get away is an interesting one, and it's strange that Daenerys, who may well have seen them going into the water (there's no real question among her group of whether or not Jaime's dead, anyway) doesn't try and search for them.

It means Jaime can serve the plot by Cersei's side, rather than as a prisoner (though that could've been very compelling viewing too), which leads us to some much bigger moments in this episode. As for Bronn, well, we can all be thankful that he's alive, and we haven't seen the last of him yet.
