Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 9 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Dragon And The Wolf'

Ups...

9. Theon Returns

Game of Thrones Theon
HBO

Theon finally got his redemption... and it was, ultimately, kinda pointless.

After seeing all he's gone through we're invested in his story, and the writers and certainly Alfie Allen do a great job of making us care about the character in this episode. His scene with Jon helps bring his arc full circle, giving resolution to the inner struggle he's always had between Stark and Greyjoy, while setting up something similar for Jon once he learns he's half-Targaryen.

It was one of many emotionally satisfying moments this week, and compounded by how hard he fought to get back to Yara. He probably won't be able to save her life, and the point it comes in the show means it might ultimately have little impact in the future, but seeing him reconcile the two sides of himself and earn that redemption makes up for it.
