Game Of Thrones Season 7 Implications: What "Stormborn" Really Means

Even with a shorter episode run, it seems Game Of Thrones is taking its time this season: it took until the final 10 minutes of episode two - Stormborn - to get into anything like really escalated spectacle as Euron attacked his kin and decimated the Greyjoy ranks in a matter of moments. The slower build is actually a good thing, as it suggests we aren't going to get to the Great War with the White Walkers too soon, and proves that HBO aren't intent on double-stuffing every episode in an attempt to make 7 Battles Of The Bastards.

Even without an appearance by The Hound (or his new friends) or Bronn, or Gendry's return or mention of what Bran is up to at The Wall (since no raven arrived for Jon telling him the key information that he's a Targaryen) there was a lot in there. We saw three returns (one not so welcome), the seeds of a key new alliance, a major change for Arya and two key blows to Dany's flawless plan to invade King's Landing. And that was just the start of it.

It was another great episode (even with some fairly on the nose exposition), and there were some significant moments that will shape the future of the series, both in the short term and the long.

So what did it all mean?
