Game Of Thrones Season 7 Implications: What "The Spoils Of War" Really Means

13. Littlefinger Tries To Give Bran The Dagger

Initially, it appeared that Littlefinger might be going to try and kill Bran this episode as he was too much of an impediment to his desire to have Sansa on the Iron Throne, but in the end, Baelish actually made a gift of the Catspaw Dagger to the new Three-Eyed Raven.

He still imagines himself as a protector of the Stark children, despite trying quite hard to bed one of them, and he actually came off as incredibly astute in his conversation with Bran. Unfortunately for him, it seems that Bran's powers work well enough to have noticed that he is an utter sh*tbag. Him quoting Littlefinger's own "chaos is a ladder" mantra back to him was an almighty mic drop and basically confirms that Bran knows Baelish to be what Varys described him as back in season 3:

"Actually I rather enjoy him, but he would see this country burn if he could be the king of the ashes"

So while Littlefinger didn't try to kill him this time, the fact that he seems to know what crimes he's done on his way to Winterfell suggests that Bran has just made himself a target. Littlefinger surely can't risk him telling Sansa and Arya that information.
