Game Of Thrones Season 8: 12 Easter Eggs & References You Might've Missed In 'The Bells'

All the callbacks and key details from Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 5.

Game of Thrones just aired its last ever penultimate episode, and, fittingly, it just so happened to be one of its biggest too.

Taking place in Dragonstone and then King's Landing, The Bells gave us a massive battle at the latter, although 'battle' is perhaps the wrong word, when it was instead complete and total destruction by Daenerys and Drogon. The capital of Westeros burned, and the internet reacted with a wildfire explosion of opinion and outrage.

Whatever your take, there's no doubting that this was a BIG episode. Both in terms of what it means for the story and characters, but also the sheer scale of production. It's wrapping up a number of character arcs, killing people off, setting up the finale, and leaving behind a trail of utter devastation. It's a visual feast for the eyes, but that also means there's plenty you might've missed.

12. Aaron Rodgers' Cameo

Game of Thrones isn't shy of throwing in a few cameos from famous faces - the last episode included the showrunners themselves even - and this week it's the turn of NFL star Aaron Rogers to appear in Westeros.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback appeared in King's Landing during the heat of the battle, at first trying to help an injured woman before then trying to save himself.
