Miguel Sapochnik knows how to deliver a battle, and he shows that once again here. And this time, they even remembered to turn on the lights!

The arrival of Daenerys and Drogon in King's Landing gives way to a wave of destruction; it's the Loot Train Battle from The Spoils of War dialled all the way up to 11. And even if you don't necessarily agree with some of the story choices made, there's no denying just how astonishing some of the spectacle in this episode is.

From the dragon flames destroying an entire city, to the surprise bursts of wildfire adding to the chaos, and the carnage on the ground to boot, this is a true epic. It's also one that has some of Season 8's very best cinematography, courtesy of Fabian Wagner. Whether it's Arya seeing the horse, the Mountain bathed in sunlight, or Tyrion standing among the wreckage (to name but three of many examples), there are some absolutely GORGEOUS shots in this episode.
