Game Of Thrones Season 8: No, Kit Harington Is NOT "Disappointed"

It's incredible sometimes the lengths that some fans will go to in order to stress the fact that THEIR opinion is the only one that matters. Add in a side of entitlement and confused ideas of ownership and you've got the perfect storm that erupted out of the penultimate episode of Game Of Thrones.

The petition is a tragedy, because it reflects incredibly badly on everyone who has ever watched Game Of Thrones, despite the fact that it reflects only 10% of the entire fanbase.. But worse is the idea that the cast also agree with the fact that the final season has been disappointing.

So far, we've seen supercuts and out of context video clips from interviews of some actors obviously joking about the final season and one of Peter Dinklage being Peter Dinklage and people who've never seen him talk in real life assuming his limited expressive range is not EXACTLY HOW HE ALWAYS TALKS. And it's incredibly frustrating to see intelligent people genuinely believe that those clips without context mean what they want them to mean.

For a start, Kit Harington is NOT disappointed in the final season. The interviews being widely shared show his anxiety at how the final season will go over with fans. He was right to react as he did, but he doesn't feel that way himself. How do we know? Well, because he's said so, even if the petition signers want to ignore the fact.

Harington has been interviewed by Esquire as part of their cover feature and said he's "quite defiant" about the show:

"I think no matter what anyone thinks about this season – and I don’t mean to sound mean about critics here – but whatever critic spends half an hour writing about this season and makes their (negative) judgement on it, in my head they can go f*ck themselves."
"I know how much people cared about this. I know how much pressure people put on themselves and I know how many sleepless nights working or otherwise people had on this show. Because they cared about it so much. Because they cared about the characters. Because they cared about the story. Because they cared about not letting people down."

So of course he's not going to express his disappointment seriously out loud. It was a jokey response. He literally laughs in the videos. That's what happens when people who are crashing bores and joyless entitled babies make a funny.

And as a final note, in the Esquire interview he said that there's no one out there who is a bigger fan of the show than the Thrones family, saying "we’re kind of doing it for ourselves. That’s all we could do, really. And I was just happy we got to the end."

So yeah, stop saying he's disappointed to serve your arguments. Enjoy the show, don't enjoy the show, It doesn't matter. Just don't assume other people who did don't and vice versa. It's tiresome.
