15. Arya's Homecoming

There's no doubting that Arya's story needed her to go away to find herself, and there have been some stunning stops along the way. Her dynamic with Gendry was delightfully charming, her team-up with The Hound even better and when she got her moments of vengeance they were mostly brilliant.

Unfortunately, she's also wasted a lot of time on her travels (pretty much the entire time she spent in Braavos), learning lessons more moral than useful to her agenda while we all waited for her to get back to her family. Now that she's sorted out the Freys and decided against going straight after Cersei (mercifully), Arya is but a stone's throw away from Winterfell.

While she's bound to be confronted by ghosts of her past, it's going to be a joyful occasion seeing her reunite with Sansa (and to a lesser extent Bran), and she should be the calming influence Sansa needs to free herself of Littlefinger's evil machinations. A swift swipe of Needle to his throat should see to that...
