Game Of Thrones: Will "Blood Of My Blood" See Shocking Return Of [SPOILER]?

If they don't die on screen, there's always a way back...

Game Of Thrones Mystery

HBOSeason 6 is a season for big returns. Jon Snow came back from the dead and then from the Wall, Rickon came back from isolation, Euron came back from his piratey adventures and we're on the verge of seeing the return of Blackfish at Riverrun.

There's a very good chance that the next episode will see an even bigger return than any of those bar Snow's defeat of death. There are a couple of particularly compelling hints that a character previously assumed to be dead may return and set up an almighty show-down that will sent fans into a legitimate frenzy.

Let's look at the hints: first there's the episode's synopsis:

An old foe comes back into the picture. Gilly (Hannah Murray) meets Sams (John Bradley) family. Arya (Maisie Williams) faces a difficult choice. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) faces off against the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce).

Ignoring the mentions of that Gilly, Arya and Jaime are doing, it's the first point that is most important here. An old foe. That could of course mean Walder Frey, but nobody is anywhere near his lands currently - though there's always a chance he turns up to Winterfell to question Ramsay about the murder of his daughter?

Second is the title: "Blood of my Blood". So a relative of an existing character? That sort of fits Frey again, and it sounds like something Dany might say - so possibly someone related to her? Again, it's not an easy fit.

And then there's that tease that incoming actor Ian McShane gave away when interviewed about his part. It's only a matter of time before he turns up, and he's not coming alone, as he told Radio 5 Live when he described his character:

[He] is like a former warrior who has renounced violence and now leads this peace cult. I have nursed a loved character, a much-loved character back to life. And he reintroduces - I wont say him or her - but its a character whose much-loved who everyone thinks is dead. But hes not dead.

That can only mean one character, with those three hints together. Sandor Clegane - the Hound - who Arya left for dead after his battle with Brienne. It would fit with the theory that he's not dead in the books (and that he was nursed back to health), and it would brilliantly set up the possibility of the Clegane Bowl we're all waiting for.

Fingers crossed for another huge episode.
