Game Of Thrones: 10 Actors' Past Roles Which Ruin Their Character

9. Iain Glen

JorahGoT Role: Ser Jorah Mormont Past Role: Manfred Powell - Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Faithful Ser Jorah Mormont is a stoic exiled knight who has sworn allegiance to Daenerys Targaryen and her quest to reclaim the Iron Throne. Apart from being a skilled warrior and a wise source of council he is flawed in that he has a thing for his young queen and lets that cloud his judgement on occasion. Failings aside he's kept her safe and has remained loyal throughout difficult times and poor decisions, and proves himself to be a true man of honour. Iain Glen has had a varied career and is clearly a talented actor which makes it so enjoyable to see him on screen in his Game of Thrones role. Speaking of varied, on the other side of the coin he has appeared as the campy evil villain in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. As the dastardly Manfred Powell he seeks an artifact for the Illuminati, immortality and perhaps more disturbingly he throwing-knifes Daniel Craig. After seeing him play the calm and collected Ser Jorah, it's quite the departure to watch him chew the scenery as an evil mastermind. The contrast between the two roles speaks volumes about Glen's acting ability and it is good fun to watch him being a bit cheesy for a change, even if it is in a video game adaptation of questionable quality.
