Glee Star Cory Monteith Found Dead In Hotel Room, Aged 31

cory monteithBBC News reports this morning that Glee star Cory Monteith, best known for his role as Finn Hudson on the FX series Glee, has been found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver. Police say he was found dead at the Pacific Rim Hotel in the city centre on Saturday and although the cause of death is not being disclosed but foul play has been ruled out. He had reportedly checked into rehab beforehand due to a drug related issue. Monteith had played the Finn Hudson on the show since it began in 2009. In 2011, he won a Teen Choice award for top actor in a comedy. The show's cast won a Screen Actors Guild award for an ensemble in a comedy the prior year. In my opinion, he was one of the best actors on the show, and he will be terribly missed. He also starred in Monte Carlo in 2011 and had a recurring role on the series Kyle XY. Whilst no details about his death have been released, an autopsy is confirmed for July 15th. In reaction to his death his publicist had this to say.
"We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss."
At the age of only 31, this news is incredibly tragic. The star was reported to be engaged to his Glee co- star Lea Michele, who also plays his girlfriend on the show. Our thoughts are with the friends and family who were all blessed to have known and worked with this young actor.
