Gotham has been on a roll since it returned to screens last week, setting up what promises to be a jaw-dropping final season. The premiere episode left us with many questions, some of which were answered in the much-slower second instalment of the Fox series.

As we move further into Gotham's final season, however, the biggest question is whether or not we'll begin to see some of Batman's most famous antagonists. It's a likely possibility, given that many of the villains currently on the show are about to enter the final stages of their transformations, becoming the highly revered versions of themselves that we all know from the comics.

With the Caped Crusader himself set to appear in the finale, some of his most renowned villains will likely start showing up and, if this new trailer is anything to go by, Harley Quinn will the first to grace our screens.

Much of the trailer centres on Selina's quest for Jeremiah, after the crazy clown left her paralysed from the waist down, but there are also a few glimpses of a woman dressed in an outfit that resembles that of Harley Quinn's. Check it out below:

In this trailer, Selina and Bruce venture into uncharted territory in their search for Jeremiah, which is what leads them to this crazed dishevelled woman who's clearly meant to be Gotham's version of The Joker's right hand girl. Harley holds a gun to Selina's head, much to Bruce's dismay, as the young Catwoman purrs at the antagonist, clearly channeling some of her new-found cat-like abilities.

There's not much to analyse in the short clip, but this knowledge of Harley's impending arrival will certainly excite fans, many of whom have been dying for the character to show up in the Fox series at some point. Better late than never, right?
