4. Ted And Robin Are Meant To Be
Ted's always going to be there for Robin. We've seen it over the past eight seasons of How I Met Your Mother and I'm pretty sure we're going to see it again. The locket is a symbol, a symbol of Ted's everlasting commitment to Robin. Barney wasn't willing to drop everything and help his wife to be; Ted was. I'm not saying that's enough to justify them being together, but it's certainly a sign. Despite Ted giving Barney his blessing to propose to Robin, it was clear he was conflicted with this decision. The camera pans out as Ted looks across a lonely New York, symbolising his isolation and regret. Ted wants to be with Robin. She may be engaged to Barney, but it's clear she's doubting Barney's suitability as a husband.
