James Gandolfini: His 10 Most Intense Scenes

6. Tony Vs Ralph - The Sopranos

james g the sopranos Tony is pissed and rightfully so. He's just lost his prized horse in a questionable stable fire. He confronts long time pain in his ass, Ralph Cifaretto. Words are had. Voices are raised. Tony is insulted. The audience finally gets to see what they've been waiting for. The build up of tension is painted like a Da Vinci in this scene. Tony is calm, cool, and collective. We know he has a horrible temper, but we see him almost toy with his prey. It's a steady slow climb up an intense roller coaster until we reach the climax where he verifies, and then he rectifies. I just made that up. Remember it. Then we abruptly crash back down to earth in a pool of Tony Soprano's throw up as we seem to do often. Enjoy the ride.
