5. Long-Term Story Arcs Will Come To Fruition
One of the things that is most impressive about the Marvel Netflix shows is their willingness to play the long game. All of the three series so far have been interconnected in subtle (and not so subtle) ways. We know this will continue with Iron Fist, as a character who has been skulking around the MCU since back in Daredevil season one will likely finally step into the spotlight.
An associate of Wilson Fisk's, Madame Gao is one of the most dangerous people in New York, with her lucrative heroin racket. There have been several hints that Gao had mystical connections, including that she comes from "a considerable distance further" than China and the Steel Serpent logo on her heroin packets.
Combining this info with Gao's appearance in the trailers, it seems likely that she is the MCU version of the Crane Mother - the powerful ruler of K'un-Zi, a rival city of K'un-L'un that is known for its dark magics. She is likely working with the Steel Serpent - the Iron Fist's nemesis.
Gao has been a fascinatingly enigmatic character so far so we look forward to seeing her origins and true motivations revealed.
