Marvel Cinematic Universe: Ranking Every Upcoming TV Show By Anticipation

From Inhumans and Defenders to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Runaways... There's a lot on the way.

Since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuted 2013, Marvel Studios has only continued to push the boundaries of their Cinematic Universe on TV. Across ABC and Netflix, their shows have been showered with critical praise and adoration from fans.

Each new series has developed its own voice, with the tones and subject matter of the darker shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage being as different from one another as they are from the adventurous S.H.I.E.L.D. or pulpy, period piece fun of Agent Carter.

Though not every endeavor has come to fruition - like the aborted S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off, Most Wanted - the television side of the MCU has continually explored all new corners of the franchise. In 2017 alone, fans have further adventures of S.H.I.E.L.D. and at least four all-new shows to look forward to, with three further series in development for 2018 and beyond on top of confirmed future seasons of shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

To put it mildly, there's a lot to look forward to over the next few years, and some of these are really worth getting excited about. Fair warning, though: If you haven't caught up on all the shows so far, there are spoilers ahead...

11. Damage Control

Release Date: TBA

In 2015, an adaptation of Damage Control was announced as being in development for ABC under the guidance of Ben Karlin, a former EP for The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Unfortunately, not much else has come out of it, with a suggestion earlier this year that the show would premiere during the 2016-17 season proving fruitless, as here we are and the show is still nowhere to be found.

Unlike Most Wanted, no one has come out and said that Damage Control is dead, which is a good thing, because the Marvel Cinematic Universe has nothing quite like it: a half-hour sitcom following the lives of the cleanup crew assigned to deal with the messes left behind by the superheroes and villains of the world.

How closely it adheres to the comics, which saw MCU heavy hitters like Tony Stark and Wilson Fisk involved in the company's origins, and how the sitcom style will mesh with the rest of the franchise is anyone's guess at this point. But if and when it finally does happen, Marvel deserves credit for their willingness to take such a unique risk, making it easy - if even just for curiosity's sake - to look forward to what's in store.
