Mystery Science Theater 3000: 5 Overrated Episodes & 5 That Don't Get The Love They Deserve

Mystery Science Theater Joel And Mike Ah, Thanksgiving. A holiday rife with tradition: turkey, awkward conversation with family you haven't seen since Great Aunt May's funeral, watching the Detroit Lions lose another game. My own favorite, however, is the lesser-known "Mystery Science Theater 3000 Turkey Day Marathon." After all, there's nothing more American than sitting your food-bloated butt on the coach and staring at the television for hours on end. Starting on 1991 on Comedy Central, the Turkey Day marathon became an MST3K staple during the show's run on that channel, and is a fond memory for many MSTies. This year the marathon returned, thanks to show creator Joel Hodgson and MST3kTurkeyDay.com. Sure, many episodes are available on DVD now, and the remainder can be, erm, acquired in a manner similar to blood-thirsty maritime outlaws. So there's nothing stopping any MSTie from having their own Turkey Day Marathon, but where's the magic in that? To commemorate the return of this glorious tradition, and also the show's 25th anniversary, I humbly present my list of underrated and overrated episodes. It's a list that's been years in the making, and isn't quite finished yet, but the time is ripe for sharing.
