9. The Stranded
Looking to be something like the spiritual successor of Lost (or at least, what Lost was at its peak), this series follows a class of 36 students from an elite private school who survive a tsunami and get stranded on a remote island in the Andaman Sea, where strange events begin to unfold.
The main character is eighteen-year-old Kraam, who becomes de facto leader when he realises rescue isn't coming for any of them, so they all have to rescue themselves, even as the mysteries of the island begin to threaten their already uncertain survival.
The director for this particular series is Sophon Sakdaphisit , known for his award-winning writing on the film Ladda Land, and his writing credits on other internationally-acclaimed horrors such as Shutter and Coming Soon, with GMM Grammy & H2L Media Group as producers. Ekachai Uekrongtham, Gary Levinsohn, Steven Sims, Billy Hines, Christian Durso are listed as executive producers.
The talent behind some of the world's most memorable and terrifying Asian horror films is certain to inject this series with the kind of intrigue audiences will be excited for, but for now, Netflix has yet to release word on casting and shoot dates.
