New Trailer Lands For Netflix's Narcos

Al Capone never had this much money.

These days, Netflix can vie with anyone as respected purveyors of content. Their series originals, including House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, have drawn huge viewing figures and rabid acclaim. The streaming service is preparing to add to that respected repertoire with Narcos, which debuts 28th August. Check out the latest trailer below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNWAKZzgbp4 Narcos dramatizes the epic drug-war of the 1980s, pitting law-enforcement against cartels, namely those managed by infamous Colombian criminal Pablo Escabar. It's fertile ground for drama, action and violence, with a cast to match the high standard Netflix generally demand. Escobar will be portrayed by Wagner Moura (Elysium), with other performers including Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl) and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) rounding out the ensemble. The entire run's been directed by Jose Padhila (last year's unfairly rebuked Robocop retread), so expect something with plenty of polish. The trailer suggests Narcos will be pretty hardcore (as is only appropriate given the subject matter) but also hints at enough levity and style to offset the possibility of the show succumbing to True Detective Season 2 levels of dour. Think something in line with Breaking Bad. All ten episodes of Narcos land 28th August.
