Peaky Blinders: The Worst Thing Each Main Character Has Ever Done

Everyone in Peaky Blinders has gotten their hands dirty at some point.

Peaky Blinders is such a popular show that many fans of the series have altered their wardrobes to include a flat cap and a crisp 1920s suit. There are not many better indications that a show is doing well than changing the very style of its audience.

One of the most engaging parts of the drama is the wide & diverse list of characters it houses. Though Tommy, Arthur, and Polly might be the figureheads of the series, there are a great many supporting characters that are equally as memorable in their actions and their storylines.

Tom Hardy's iconic Jewish gang leader Alfie Solomons, for example. He has made an art form out of stealing scenes away from those actors around him and has done it with such aplomb that the creators of the series had to bring him back after trying to kill him off.

However, when we take a step back and look at the great sprawling story that engulfs the Birmingham-based cohorts, we can also see all of their transgressions and all of their worst actions lit up in the cold light of day.

Here we take a look and rank the worst things that each of the main cast has ever done.

7. Polly Shelby - Telling Hughes About Tommy's Plan

Polly Shelby - played so brilliantly by the mighty, late Helen McCrory - isn't just the second in command to the Shelby company, she is also the most trusted advisor to Tommy.

The bond the pair have is one of deep and unmoving trust, even when they disagree and don't speak, they still are able to somehow retain the ties that bind. Polly was a surrogate mother to Tommy, Arthur, John, Ada, and Finn - so her worst action was one that wasn't made out of spite, it was made out of ignorance.

In trying to confess her sins, Polly gets incredibly drunk and tells Father Hughes about Tommy's plan to kill a man of the cloth. Polly has no idea that Hughes is the man that Tommy is going to kill, or that he is the one giving all the information to the Russians.

However, because of her stupidity, her actions lead to Charlie Shelby being kidnapped and Tommy almost losing his wife and son inside a matter of weeks.

Charlie is rescued in the end by Michael, and no harm does befall the boy, though the actions that the rest of the family have to undertake in order to get the job done are heinous, which is all caused through Polly's ignorance.
