Preacher Season 3 Finale: 3 Ups & 1 Down From 'The Light Above'

Ups...

3. Betty Buckley's Astounding Performance

Preacher Marie L'Angelle
AMC

The Marie L'Angelle storyline dragged on a little bit too long, but the last few episodes finally started getting things moving, and her death in this episode felt like the right move for the narrative. Moreover, regardless of the repetitive nature of this arc, there has been one thing that kept us coming back week after week, and that's Betty Buckley's wonderful performance as the horrible L'Angelle.

The acclaimed actress delivered some of her best work yet on Preacher, and her nuanced performance in the final episode resulted in the audience almost feeling sorry for L'Angelle, which - let's face it - is no easy task. Although it was absolutely the right time to kill off the character, it needs to be said that Betty Buckley will be sorely missed.
