Rick And Morty Season 3: 8 Things We Cannot Wait To See

All you Grandpa Rick loving Mortys better be excited for Season 3.

With Rick giving himself over to the Galactic Federation and being incarcerated in a maximum-security prison, Rick and Morty Season 2 ended on a sombre cliffhanger.

Finally, after more than a year and a half of reported delays and false cancellations – just as ‘oooooh weeeee, I’m Mr. Poopy Butthole’ predicted – the twisted and cold mad-scientist is back! Oh, and so are his whiny grandkids Morty and Summer, his mess of a daughter Beth, and his soon to be ex-son-in-law Jerry.

Having already seen how dark and relentless creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland can be, Rick’s “welcome to the darkest year of our adventures” statement says a lot about how ridiculously awesome and cruel this season is going to be.

That promise, plus the infinite number of crazy fan theories released by the council of Rick and Morty devotees, is more than enough to get all of us fans stupidly excited.

Plus, even though Rick and Morty is not interested in playing by the rules of society and every other television show, there are returns, payoffs, and crazy scenarios we expect, know of, and cannot help but anticipate.

8. An Entire Afternoon At Blips And Chitz!

With the fan-favourite interdimensional cable expected to come back again, viewers would also love a return of Blips and Chitz - truly the greatest arcade ever. Where else can you play a scarily depressing - yet oddly endearing - life simulator which teaches you not to return to the carpet store?

Before the airing of Season 2’s finale, Harmon spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about a possible return to everyone's favourite intergalactic arcade: “I’m excited about revisiting stuff in season three because I was so phobic about revisiting stuff in season two. Now we can fade in on Blips and Chitz because we’ve already proven that the show isn’t going to start eating itself, and that will feel even more limitless if we go back to a couple of things we really enjoyed doing.”

If Roiland and Harmon can make people wish to play a heartbreakingly realistic human life simulator, what else are they capable of coming up with? A lot more! Just like Rick's capacity for evil, Harmon and Roiland's genius knows no bounds. And a return to the beer-serving space arcade is incredibly anticipated, even if its showing is again short and sweet.

Plus, with how a knock-off version of Roy was created for VR, there is the likelihood of any new showcased games being given the same treatment.
