One of Sherlock Holmes' most famous phrases is "you see but you do not observe." It first appeared in A Scandal in Bohemia and has been said in the modern series a few times.

The line is parodied here. "As ever, Watson, you see but do not observe", Sherlock says to John's obscured armchair. As he continues, it turns out he is talking to Baby Rosie who has thrown her rattle on the floor.
