The Simpsons: 10 Greatest Deaths (So Far)

This fall, the Simpsons are to kill off one of their main characters. Last October, show producer Al Jean revealed the shock plot to bump off a long-serving Springfield resident in Season 26 of the animated comedy. Like Johnny Tightlips, however, Jean was reticent when asked who may bite the bullet in 2014. All he would say was that the Simpsons character to die is played by an actor who has won an Emmy for their role, which doesn't exactly narrow things down considering Dan Castellaneta, who voices Homer, Julie Kavner, who does Marge, Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart, and Yeardley Smith, who lends Lisa her words, all also voice numerous other characters. Even though the Simpsons maintain the status quo, in that things stay pretty much the same from one episode to the next, this is by no means the first time the writers have elected to kill off one of the show's characters, whether they're recurring or one-time. And here, we take a look at the 10 Greatest Deaths from the Simpsons (So Far). *Many characters have been jokingly killed off during the Treehouse of Horror episodes, such as Ned and even Homer. However, we will not be including these.*
