Star Trek Apartment Dismantled Because of Divorce, A Geek Faux Pas

Tony Alleyne has spent the last ten years creating a near-perfect replica of the Starship Enterprise in his apartment in Hinckley, Leics effectively creating the worlds coolest Star Trek apartment. Now it's being taken away in a divorce.

Tony Alleyne Tony Alleyne is a diehard Star Trek fan. And I mean a really big fan. He has spent the last ten years creating a near-perfect replica of the Starship Enterprise in his apartment in Hinckley, Leics effectively creating the worlds coolest Star Trekapartment. But like most things in life, Alleyne's fully realized dream is getting ripped away from him, by his soon to be ex-wife Georgina in their divorce. Resistance was futile for Tony, Georgina is set to sell the flat. "I want to sell it as conventional property" was her reason. Not a Trek fan Georgina? Construction on the replica began in 1994 and is 500-square feet. Oh, and its like close to a 100% authentic flight deck, with flashing lights and transporters lined up next to accurate computer consoles. It's very very close to the flight deck in Star Trek. It's a damn shame to loose it, is what we're saying. Alleyne built the replica from scratch and he stated that it would cost him £100,000 to even try and attempt to do it again. But he is 58 now and unsure whether he can even attempt to do it again. When asked about the experience, Alleyne stated "To say I'm gutted is an understatement. It is my life's work = and it looks like it's going into a skip. I admit there tears." I don't blame you big guy, that was a pretty big achievement. Maybe your next stop can be new, better wife, the final frontier. Here's some more photos for those interested: Tony Alleyne 2Tony Alleyne 3Tony Alleyne 4
