Star Trek New Series: 10 Reasons It Should Be Captain Worf

9. Netflix Are Apparently Looking To Do A Star Trek Show...

Netflix Earlier this week, a rumour broke out that Netflix was €˜in talks€™ to create a new Star Trek series to go along with their growing library of original programming. Sadly, the rumour was largely unfounded. Netflix are interested in making a Star Trek series, but that€™s about it. They€™ve put a few feelers out, but those feelers have been pushed back by CBS. There really isn€™t much more to tell. At the time of writing, there are certainly no solid plans to create a new Star Trek TV series. ...But that doesn€™t mean it will never happen. The good thing to take away from the above statement is that Netflix DO want to board the €˜wagon train€™ to the stars by making a new €˜Trek series. This means that a) Netflix acknowledges Star Trek€™s massive (and massively dedicated) fanbase. And b) A group with the money, talent and power to make it happen actually wants to do it. This isn€™t some crackhead on Kickstarter, or a fan-made Youtube series, this one can actually happen. In addition, being produced by Netflix would be a cutting edge way for a futuristic show like Star Trek to return to our screens.

I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction. I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long! If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it). I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work. Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that! Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?) Latcho Drom, - CQ
