As part of the promotional material for Season Five of Cartoon Network’s series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a poster was released featuring a number of characters that may or may not meet their maker this season. Jedi Master Adi Gallia was on the list and was killed by Sith Lord-in training Savage Opress in the opening episode. The remaining candidates are Embo, Satine Kryze, Pre Vizsla, Hondo Ohnaka, Darth Maul, Savage Opress, Asajj Ventress, Captain Rex, and Ahsoka Tano.

So let’s look at which of them may become one with the Force and why…

 

Embo

Who Is He: A strong and almost silent bounty hunter with a large number of confirmed kills who uses his hat as a weapon.

Why We Think He’ll Die: He’s a recurring character so his death would have some weight to it but he doesn’t really have a personality and has little character potential.

Why We Don’t Think He’ll Die: The production crew really seem to like him which is why they decided not to kill him off in his first appearance (Season Two’s Bounty Hunters) so it would make sense that they want to keep him alive.

How We Think He’ll Die: The trailers show him fighting Darth Maul with a Bowcaster. Shooting at Darth Maul is not a wise battle strategy.

 

Satine Kryze

Who Is She: Pacifist Duchess of the planet Mandalore and a love interest for Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Why We Think She’ll Die: Mandalorian terrorist Pre Vizsla and his followers have teamed up with Darth Maul to conquer Mandalore and restore the now peaceful Mandalorians to their warmongering pasts. And Kryze just happens to be something standing in their way. Unless something intervenes, she’s pretty much screwed. Also, the trailers show a Mandalorian civil war with Obi-Wan in Mandalorian armour. Kryze’s death would be a good reason for him to become involved.

Why We Don’t Think She’ll Die: There’s potential for a character arc where she realises that being a complete pacifist is plain stupid when your planet is under attack and learns to fight back.

How We Think She’ll Die: Killed by Mandalorian terrorist Pre Vizsla or Darth Maul as part of their attempt to conquer Mandalore.
