8. Who You Gonna Call?
Speaking of Halloween costumes, that's Will, in full Ghostbusters gear.
With Stranger Things being set in the 80s, it would be criminal not to give a nod to one of the decade's biggest franchises. Stranger Things 2 is doing just that, taking advantage of the Halloween setting. Ghostbusters costumes would have been extremely popular in 1984, the year in which the new season will be set. The movie was a Summer release, and a smash hit with kids and adults all over.
In the above shot, Will appears to be exploring alone - perhaps in the Upside Down. If you remember the end of the first season, he had a vision of the alternate dimension that almost seemed real. There's a chance Will might be able to (willingly or not) slip over to the other side without finding an actual portal.
That's a very terrifying thought.
