The Ravens may have been the victors on the field, but there is only one winner in our eyes and that crown lies with Queen B herself. Well played Mrs. Carter, well played. Beyonce and Pepsi teamed up this year to create one of the most visually magnificent and vocally electric halftime shows that the world has ever seen and OH MY GOD they delivered. I mean it was SO electric that it caused a power outage afterwards - I'll call that the Beyonce effect. In reflection I'm taking a look at the top 5 reasons why Beyonce stole the show this year. I don't think you're ready for this jelly.
5. That Costume
The styling of Beyonce was a stand out in itself and the team of designers deserve a heap of credit for this creation. Bootylicious doesn't even begin to describe how she was looking. She is one sexy mumma thats for sure. The outfit was created by an unknown New York designer, Rubin Singer, but I don't think he'll remain in obscurity for much longer. The black leather masterpiece was inspired by Norse mythology with the idea being that Beyonce embodied the spirit and energy of the "Valkyrie". The belief is that a Valkyrie figure is a woman with power and focus which frankly sounds like a perfect mesh with Beyonce's own stage persona. The outfit was scantily clad, but not certainly not controversial or racy by any stretch of the imagination. It took over 200 hours for Rubin and his 14 assistants to assemble such an iconic stage piece and is certainly a career starter for him. The outfit successfully showed off those sexy curves and exemplified those incredible legs. Seriously, did you see that high kick? Flawless. The addition of leather gloves and the sharp edging on the body piece exuded qualities of strength and control, which also set her apart from Kelly and Michelle when they were on stage. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
