Supergirl Season 4: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'Parasite Lost'

4. Kara Danvers, The Reporter

Kara Danvers' promotion to reporter in Season 2 promised some exciting new storylines for the Girl of Steel when she wasn't wearing her red and blue uniform. While we have often heard the recycled "Kara Danvers, reporter for CatCo" line since then, we haven't really seen her sink her teeth into her role. Furthermore, with the threat of the Worldkillers to worry about, she barely set foot in CatCo throughout Season 3.

Thankfully, that all seems to have changed in Season 4. With the introduction of Nia Nal and the prominence on James, we're seeing a lot more of CatCo these days. But the best thing about it is that we're seeing Kara spend a lot of time there as well.

This week's outing saw her interview beloved alien healer Amadei Derros for CatCo as she wanted to write an article about him to spread positivity. In fact, this ended up inspiring her to write a series of profiles, each one highlighting a particular alien in National City.

Seeing her gleefully recite her article idea to Nia in CatCo reminded us of how passionate she once was about being a reporter, and it's nothing short of fantastic to see her possess that drive once more. In this current climate, the news matters, reporters matter and there is no better way for the show to emphasise that than by showcasing their driven protagonist.
