The Flash: 10 Questions We Need Answered Before The End Of The Season

Seriously, how many Jay Garricks are there?

Although The Flash may have briefly stepped off the air, the series clearly hasn’t strayed too far from our thoughts. As the show has progressed through its second season, it has excelled at creating plenty of mysteries and leaving huge plot threads around that are still begging to be answered.

Central to the story this year has been the inclusion of Zoom and all of the mysterious dealings he’s brought with him. There’s plenty of convincing theories as to his identity and the events surrounding him, but the show still has yet to definitively set forth what’s been happening. Beyond those main plot threads, there are also tons of other unanswered questions ranging from where certain characters are heading to how the world around them is changing.

While the thrill of asking these questions adds suspense to the show, it’s that time of the year when it needs to start providing some satisfying answers to back them up. The Flash absolutely knocked it out of the park with the season finale last year, mostly because of how it resolved nearly every significant lingering concern in a resonant way. Hopefully, this year can achieve that same feat.

With only six episodes left, there are a huge number of burning questions still out in the open for the show, and we need them answered if Season 2 wants to finish things off right.

10. How Will We See Earth-2 Again?

If Season 2 has taught us anything, it’s that time travel was not a one-off gimmick but a recurring storytelling device for the show. With that in mind, it really isn’t so hard to believe that alternate dimensions could play a similar role going forward.

There’s a lot of potential in seeing alternate versions of the characters we love. It let us have Killer Frost without actually ruining Caitlin forever and likewise, it gave us Harrison Wells back after killing him just a season earlier. Earth-2 is also about to provide us with an appearance from their Black Canary, but the means in which she shows up are currently a mystery.

Barry worked hard to close up all of the breaches, but is it possible he missed some? Could Zoom have found a way to break through and Black Canary hijacked it for herself? Considering the fantastical nature of inter-dimensional travel, there would seem to be many possibilities for how it's going to be achieved again.

A gateway to Earth-2 is going to be a crucial plot element in terms of brining Zoom back into direct conflict with Team Flash, and its existence needs to be supported by a thought-out explanation.
