The Flash: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best

7. Caitlin Snow

The Flash Cisco Wells
The CW

Caitlin is nothing if not kind-hearted, and that trait has made her character one whose absence would undoubtedly be felt were she no longer a part of the show, even outside all her crucial scientific knowledge. She's a valuable asset to the team, and seeing the character face her darker reflection in Killer Frost in season two was a great way to highlight just how strong she is internally for being able to overcome her own personal tragedies without letting them completely grind her down.

That said, if there's one thing bringing Caitlin down, it's the show's reliance in pairing her off only to pull the rug out from under her threatening to undermine her character. In the first season, Ronnie's seeming death, reemergence, and actual death worked for the character; in the second, her falling for Jay only for the Zoom reveal to happen was like a slap in the face for her. So much of her character has been devoted to Ronnie and Jay/Zoom that we haven't really had the chance to see her well and truly come into her own, and hopefully season three can take a break from focusing on her tragic relationships for a bit to unpack her real potential.
