The Flash Season 2: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After 'Back To Normal'

How does The Flash work when it's hero is stripped of his superspeed? That's the question posed in Back To Normal, as Barry has to deal with his power being drained out of him and given to Zoom.

The idea isn't a new one in the superhero world, heck it's not even the first time it's happened on The Flash this season, but coming towards the climax of the season it could've at least offered the chance to really examine who Barry is, what Zoom's done to him, how he can function without his powers, and all other manner of interesting questions.

Instead, it finds him moping around for a bit, before having to overcome an extremely generic metahuman-of-the-week in Griffin Grey. Elsewhere, the repercussions of last week are being felt on Earth-2 as well, with Caitlin locked up in Zoom's lair, and as a nice surprise she has Killer Frost for company.

The other plot threads this week revolve around Harry trying to be reunited with his daughter, and Wally wanting to thank the Flash for saving his life.

It was a rather sombre outing, and not a particularly exciting one, although at this late stage it does at least set things up for the final few episodes. The Flash delivered one of its weakest episodes of the season, but it still managed to throw up some interesting questions (even if it didn't ask any of its hero).

10. Can We Get Back To Normal?

Although the episode was called Back To Normal, it was anything but your typical Flash episode. Oh, sure, plenty have had rather mediocre villains, but even then the tone of the show has remained rather light. When it's presented serious issues, it's been capable of balancing it with zipping around and keeping with the character. There's generally some sense of excitement and adventure, and fun, all of which is pretty much lacking here.

I can understand why they chose to go this route, given Barry's lost both his speed and Caitlin, but unfortunately it didn't really work. With just four episodes left of Season 2, can we please go back to normal?
