The Flash Season 2: 16 WTF Moments From 'The Reverse-Flash Returns'

The Reverse-Flash is back, another speedster is teased, and Cisco Ramon screams like a girl then ceases to exist.

In this latest outing of The CW's Scarlet Speedster-centric show, The Reverse-Flash Returns does exactly as it says on the tin. As it says, Reverse-Flash is well and truly back. For now, at least. With the return of the show's greatest villain to date comes one of the show's best episodes to date, which is no mean feat considering the high quality of episode that The Flash deals out on a regular basis. Whilst Eobard Thawne would sadly depart present-day Central City by the time this outing came to a close, the episode gave us an insight into this rogue's mindset and what drove him to become the villainous Reverse-Flash. Added to that, it also made for some awesome viewing to see Barry Allen confronted with the man who is (or should that be 'will be'?) responsible for killing his mother and for causing so much pain throughout his life. Whilst Reverse-Flash is the main focal point of the episode, elsewhere we get to see Cisco Ramon explore his powers, and there's also a shocking twist in the tail as to just why Jay Garrick doesn't have an Earth-1 doppelgänger. Could it be that another speedster tease or has the show merely thrown us a red herring? We'll have to wait and see on that front. The Reverse-Flash Returns was a roaring success as an episode, and it was one full of plenty of shocking (and a few random) WTF moments throughout. So with that said, here's the pick of the bunch.

16. Blast From The Past

Cisco Ramon is always good for a cheeky reference or knowing wink during each episode, and Harry Wells is also prone to getting in on the act at times as well. Here, within the show€™s opening few minutes, a conversation between the pair leads to a €œbetter, stronger, faster€ comment from Wells. This, of course, was a nice nod to a famed TV series of yesteryear, The Six Million Dollar Man, itself set to get a new lease of life with the upcoming Mark Wahlberg-starring big screen redo. Given inflation over the years, the property will now be titled The Six Billion Dollar Man €“ I kid you not.
