6. He Becomes Black Flash
The Flash's fans and Barry Allen's friends and family can't wait for him to return from the Speed Force - but what if he's a bad'un when he eventually returns? No, not something to do with Savitar. That storyline has clearly sailed. But instead what about Barry taking the place of another big bad - Zoom AKA Black Flash.
In Season 3 we learned that, after being taken into the Speed Force by the Time Wraiths at the end of Season 2, Hunter Zolomon had become their skeletal enforcer, Black Flash. Essentially, the Grim Reaper of speedsters.
Though he appeared briefly on The Flash, his biggest role came in Legends of Tomorrow, where he hunted down Reverse-Flash. In Finish Line, however, Killer Frost managed to kill him. So won't the Speed Force be after a replacement?
Like the idea of Barry remaining in the Speed Force for a few episodes, Barry being Black Flash likely wouldn't last that long. Team Flash will work out something sciencey-wiencey to turn him back to normal and everything will be all right again. However, it could be an interesting avenue to explore for a short period.
