The Flash Season 5: 3 Ups & 4 Downs From ‘Goldfaced’

2. Barry And Ralph Make A Great Team

While the storylining behind the team's Goldface mission was problematic (more on that later), it's hard to deny that it was an enjoyable adventure. Not only did it allow us to see two of Central City's biggest heroes thrown into the lion's den without their powers, it also gave us the opportunity to see more of that Barry and Ralph bromance that the show teased us with last season.

Realising that Barry would struggle to accept that he ever took part in the stealing of the 3D organ printer, Ralph chose to lock his friend up in order to save him from himself. However, after realising that he couldn't go through with it either, the once-crooked P.I.-turned-superhero found himself in a real pickle. Well, that is until Barry saved him.

This then led to what may have been the greatest shootout in Arrowverse history as Barry and Ralph, armed with their own weapons, unleashed hell on Goldface's crew and single-handedly stunned every last one of them. Their actions then led to a two-on-one showdown with Goldface himself, which may have been inspired by every final boss video game battle ever, as the outmatched heroes uses their initiative to defeat him.

With exceptional teamwork and slo-mo walks, Barry and Ralph proved to be the ultimate badasses and this outstanding sequence almost made the whole episode seem worthwhile. More than that, they worked incredibly well together and, as a result, learned something about each other. Just as Barry proved that he could at least play the part of a convincing criminal, Ralph once again proved just how far he has come this season.
